Health/Clinical Services Management
Work with health bodies forms a substantial part of our consultancy practice and the health/clinical services management component of our portfolio is rich and varied. Consultancy assignments of course vary, but often tend to revolve around:
- How services are defined or revised in the light of prevailing circumstances e.g. following merger, structural or market change
- How new relationships are understood and established e.g. in market and partnership contexts, clinical networks etc.
- Identifying user communities and involving them in service development and evaluation e.g. user involvement strategies, patient forums, use of focus groups, patient satisfaction etc.
- Conducting service reviews e.g. carer support services, laboratory, medical records
and
- Evaluating programmes e.g. implementation of clinical information systems, and specific initiatives e.g. NSFs, new roles etc.
Implementation
Help and advice is available in the form of understanding 'demands' involving stakeholders, project management, preparing organisations, groups or individuals for change, learning from best practice etc.
Evaluation
No clinical or service initiative can be considered fully implemented until it has been evaluated. Sometimes this is a condition of 'bid' finance at other times an evaluation is conducted to test the implementation process, the impact of the initiative itself or to develop an evidence base for further/future change. A full range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies are available.
