About the workshop
This workshop has been designed to help participants to further develop their recruitment interviewing skills and to be able to recognise and use different approaches/styles. Successful interviewers are able to apply appropriate questioning techniques to establish the facts, gain evidence and make decisions in order to achieve appropriate outcomes.

Those individuals who are involved in recruitment interviewing and who would benefit by reviewing and enhancing their skills.
Workshop objectives
By the end of the workshop, each participant will:
- Have reviewed generic interviewing skills and be able to recognise and use different approaches/styles/skills.
- Have gained further insight into how these approaches/styles and skills can be used to get the best from recruitment interviews.
Outline content (duration: 1 day)
- Different types of interview.
- Identifying and working with generic skills.
- Fact finding and use a criterion based approach
- Applying skills to recruitment interviewing (conventions, approaches, conducting the interview and making the decision).
The workshop will involve short inputs, discussion and practical exercises to give each participant the opportunity to enhance their skills.
