Influencing and Negotiating Effectively
About the workshop
Individuals have to negotiate with and influence others every day of their working lives. Successful 'negotiators and influencers' are able to build strong relationships, exert greater influence on colleagues and present a positive image of themselves and their organisation.
This workshop has been designed to help participants to understand the principles of effective negotiating and influencing and to enhance their ability to communicate confidently in a variety of settings.

Workshop objectives
By the end of the workshop, each participant will
- Understand the principles which support effective communication
- Understand their own influencing and negotiating style
- Understand and apply the fundamental steps of 'principled negotiating' to different settings
- Develop a negotiating strategy

Interpersonal communication
- Defining communication and the communication process
- Non verbal communication and body language
- Identifying and overcoming barriers to effective communication
Persuading and influencing
- Defining your personal style - self analysis/skills audit
- Using effective behaviours to gain the most in negotiating situations
- Gaining co-operation and minimising conflict
Negotiating
- Understanding the negotiation process
- Introduction to principled negotiation
- Developing a strategy
- Negotiating with RESPECT
