About the workshop
A participative and practical workshop designed to provide knowledge of design and the techniques you can use to help develop an effective Business Case. More and more managers are now required to write Business Cases and often issues around service development can hinge on whether cases are made effectively. Managers with the skills to develop effective Business Cases are generally more successful at securing scarce resources.
Workshop designed for
This workshop is designed for managers with little or no knowledge and/or experience of Business Cases, however, they will be required to develop a Business Case(s) now and/or in the near future. This is important, as managers do need to bring with them their Business Case ideas and information.
Workshop objectives
By the end of the workshop each participant will:
- Understand the purpose of a Business Case
- Understand the design of a Business Case
- Have practised basic techniques/tools to help develop the Winning Business Case
- Have explored the ideas of the market share and the marketing mix
Outline content (duration: 1 day)
- Why do we have Business Cases?
- Understanding the phases of a Business Case
- Using techniques such as SWOT, PESTLE, the Boston Matrix, Risk Assessment and Option Appraisal
- Developing your Business Case in Practical Sessions
